Looking for Community Developers for new Better at Home sites

The Better at Home Provincial Office team is looking for Community Developers throughout British Columbia to help our newest communities assess their readiness to implement a Better at Home program, identify non-medical home support services, and support the selection of a lead organization.
In each of these communities, Community Developers will engage in a community consultation process. If you are interested in conducting community development work with the Better at Home project, please see the Requests for Proposal below.

Seeking a Training Consultant for Better at Home
Better at Home is seeking a Training Consultant to develop – in close collaboration with the Better at Home provincial office – a training program for Better at Home Program Coordinators, for our “Fall Provincial Meet-up” on November 28 & 29, 2013.
If you are interested in creating a training plan relevant to seniors issues with the Better at Home project, please see the Request for Proposal below.

Additional $5 million announced to further support seniors in British Columbia
United Way of the Lower Mainland has received an additional $5 million from the province of British Columbia to further enhance the ground-breaking seniors” program Better at Home. Better at Home offers B.C. seniors help with a variety of non-medical services to assist them in living independently in their own homes.
The new funding is provided by the Provincial Health Services Authority and brings total provincial support for the Better at Home program to $20 million.

Better at Home expands to Parksville
More B.C. seniors will benefit from assistance with non-medical services such as grocery shopping and snow removal to support them in living independently in their own homes as the Better at Home program expands to Parksville, B.C.
