Better at Home Caring Summit – March 3 & 10, 2017

You’re invited to the Better at Home Caring Summit!  The Vancouver Better at Home programs are planning two days of skill building workshops for existing and prospective Better at Home volunteers.

WHAT: Better at Home Caring Summit Training

WHEN: Friday March 3rd and Friday March 10th 2017

From 12:00pm to 5:00pm

WHERE: Kitsilano Neighbourhood House, 2305 W 7th Avenue, Vancouver

WHY: Our goal is to build a caring community for the seniors who live in Vancouver. During these two days you will not only have the opportunity to learn about seniors’ needs, issues, and resources, but gain skills and competences to work with this population.

Topics Include: Aging in place, Active and compassionate listening, Mental health awareness, Healthy boundaries, Cultural competency, etc.

WHO: This training will be offered to volunteers, visitors, drivers, contractors, and staff from all Better at Home Program sites in Vancouver, and for those who are interested in volunteering/working with it.

Parking

There is no onsite parking for Kits House participants. Limited street parking is available on the blocks surrounding the Neighbourhood House.

Pay parking can be found under Whole Foods located at the corner of 4th and Vine and under London Drugs located at Broadway and Yew.

We encourage those coming to Kits House to walk, bike, take transit or car pool.

Completion Certificate

Participants who attend both days will receive a certificate of completion.

Will there be food?

A light lunch and refreshments will be served
